Hello,
I am looking for advice/experiences on some upcoming projects.
1. Anyone install a Scheafer Profurl?
1a. If so, how did it go?
2. Has anyone moved the location of the battery? I am going to convert the current cooler space to a batter/stuff compartment.
2a. If you have done this or anything similar, how did it work out?
One last oddball question.
3. Has anyone made a "quick connect" for the alternator feed to the battery? I store my motor off the boat in the winter and need to figure out a better way to connect the alternator feed to the battery.
Looking forward to spring and any advice!
Thanks,
J Bartlett

Prior owner moved the battery in our 2001 Capri between the portapotty and the compression post. Seems to help balance the boat. Definitely better than having the motor and battery both in the starboard stern. Somewhat awkward for those who want to use the potty though. _________________ 2001 FKTR #893 "Verboten" |

| I noted that the soon-to-be-our Capri also has a charger in the same locker as the battery. While it is not directly exposed to the weather, somewhere below would be a better choice IMHO. Any experience or thoughts on moving that as well? |

We have one of those little 110v smart chargers in the stern locker as well. Prior owner put it there, primarily for when the boat was parked in the driveway. There's also a 110v plug just above the locker that's connected to an outlet in the cabin so he could run a heater or dehumidifier when the boat was parked in the driveway. *Not* a system for on the water use though.
We've also got the smart charger/controller for the solar panel in there. Ours are all mounted on a piece of 1/2" thick plexiglass or acrylic that wedges in the section the battery doesn't go in. Helps keep the whole thing up out of any water that gets in the locker. Prior owner also added a drain to the bottom of the locker that runs to a new through hull above the waterline.
